Mission in Action!
You + Grand Rapids Dominicans = A MORE JUST, PEACEFUL, LOVING WORLD!
In 2024, united with hundreds of generous friends and supporters, the Grand Rapids Dominican Sisters Foundation put our faith in action to respond to the urgent needs of unhoused people in our community.
Our first ever grants helped make this work possible:
- At Well House, a dedicated team works day and night to make sure the most vulnerable have a place to call home—and the support necessary to address challenges early.
- AYA Youth Collective sees nearly 1,000 young people walk through the doors of their drop-in center every year. There, youth find a shoulder, a shower, a shared meal—whatever is needed to feel welcome, safe, and supported.
- In Saginaw, where Dominican Sisters have ministered for well over 100 years, women facing a critical point in recovery are welcomed into a loving, supportive environment where they can regain their strength and confidence.
Our 2025 grant cycle is already underway—we can’t wait to share more in just a few weeks. One thing we know for sure—our joint efforts to respond to the needs of our neighbors makes a difference in people’s lives and, is what we are called to do.

The Mission Continues
Dominican Sisters respond to the needs of the world through ministry and have always done so in community. This means we need you! The Grand Rapids Dominican Sisters Foundation was created so that the work of building a better world never ceases.
The Foundation makes grants to support work that mirrors Sisters’ ministries both past and present: care of Earth, education, alleviating poverty, peace and justice efforts, health care, and spiritual formation—and more!
